Buon Fresco's originator, Victoria Bingham, in addition to her innovations in paint and plaster is also a self taught caricaturist!.

Caricature Art at parties or 'Party Art' as some people call it, is the height of hilarity and plain good fun.  Victoria started drawing caricatures in Syracuse,  New York, in 1976.  Her first caricatures were actually satirical illustrations for the Syracuse University's Daily Orange student newspaper. On a team with writer Peter Heimlich, Victoria turned out weekly illustrations of willing victims from the student body as well as the political sphere from that time, to include, Jimmy Carter, Walter Mondale, Richard Nixon and Gerald Ford.  Victoria was quick to discover too, that the recipients of her pen's pointed musings, rather than miffed, became fans and delighted by the result. After S.U. Bingham drew the drill sergeants and officers of the 7th Battalion at Fort Jackson SC, as a way of returning the favor to the drill sergeants of course! She has since drawn in  New York, Connecticut, New Jersey, California and Washington DC metro area with a client list including:  Ive's Saint Laurent,  Macy's, RCA, The Galleria Mall in White Plains NY, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute as well as innumerable private clients.

While caricaturing has taken a back seat to wall art, Victoria is available for a limited number of engagements.

THE CLASS:  Buon Fresco is happy to announce the new Caricature Drawing Class, open to anyone eager to learn the art of the caricature portrait. [Suggested prerequisite is the ability to draw]

The Course: The course begins with Victoria "caricaturing" each student. Students receive step-by-step verbal and visual instruction during this segment. Students then pair up and are permitted to lampoon one another. Artists are often surprised to see how easily caricatures 'happen' when their viewpoint has been adapted. Yes, students keep the caricature Victoria draws, as well as those pictures you draw of others. [Generally picture exchanges are the rule!]  The course is not only a lot of fun, but caricature art has potential for profit.
The schedule for the Caricature Drawing Class is based upon demand.
