<Dining Room with Painted Stripes, Niche Murals and Gilding

This very elegantly appointed dining room posed its own color problems with gold and green window dressings and an Italian Dining set with decidedly red wood tones.

The Living Room just the other side of the great hallway [see the Living Room page featuring the 'Faux Damask' walls] having been done in gold tones meant another scheme entirely needed to be developed.

The particular green found in the Dining Room Chair fabric's stripes was applied to the walls in Faux Stripes with an inlaid stencil design.

The Alcoves were gilded and given a period landscape divided into the two 'window' openings.

The ceiling was colored a soft cream gold color [see photo below] and the final effect was to pull together the entire room as well as coordinating with the color schemes of the Great Hallway and the Living Room just to the other side.

Wonderful.
